History Timeline:  Westward Expansion and Sectionalism
I can create a sequential timeline of westward expansion and sectionalism.  Include date, title of event, and an icon for each historic event. Add Trail of Tears to Timeline.

Open HA book to pgs. 192-195
Open AM book to pgs. 356-359
Jackson’s Indian Policy
  • RoundRobin Discussion using Read around the Text:  take turns - each person says one thing for each question.
  1. Look at the pictures.  What ideas are being presented?
  2. Look at the captions and read them.
  3. Look at the maps, charts, graphs.  Make a statement about the information presented.
  4. Read titles, headings, bold face and italicized words.
  5. Read the first and last lines of each paragraph for more information.
