Homework
ISN Book Cover Assignment:  All year long students create their own Interactive Student Notebook (ISN).  The final product becomes a valuable resource for high school social studies classes.  The interactive notebook allows one to be a creative, independent thinker and writer. Interactive notebooks will be used for class notes as well as other activities.  Create a neat, easy to read, and visually appealing cover that shows your personality as well as some information about the United States of America. 
Include:
o                 First name
o                 Last name
o                 Social Studies
o                 2012-2013
o                 3 graphics with captions about you
o                 2 American symbols with descriptive captions

3rd Hour - Complete the American Symbols reading.  Use the sub-headings to make your questions.  Create notes of the key facts.  When questions and notes are done, write the main idea summary.

Channel One News Show & Quiz
  1. READ the quiz questions so you are prepared to answer.  Answer any that you can.
  2. You need to earn 5 points on the quiz, questions after that are worth .5 overtime points.
